Along with the broader statement of our Vision and Mission, we at Nopalera Artist Collective work hard to create spaces for our community to grow and thrive.
Some of the ways we do this is by:
Participating in events that our community puts together.
Hosting events like workshops and skillshares.
Hosting community meetings every other month.
Hosting a seasonal community get together in which we can connect with each other while sharing art and dance.
We do this while still enforcing our values:
We are an anti-capitalist, anti-imperialist, and anti-fascist cooperation. We do not support or collaborate with: sexism, racism, ageism, ableism, homophobia, fatphobia, or transphobia.
We do this in an effort to hold space for our community to heal, grow, learn, and teach one another. As artists we seek to produce media and artforms that actively disrupt systematic violence, and as community organizers we seek to find spaces in which we can be free from violence, in all of its forms.
We want to build community empowerment, by building the world we wish to live in.
